In an interview with Larry King this week, former Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld said he wasn’t sure whether or not he supports gay marriage.

Rumsfeld, a Republican who served under both President Gerald Ford and President George W. Bush, told King that he supported the repeal of the military’s "Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell" act, which prohibited military members from openly serving, but admitted he was conflicted on his views regarding same-sex marriage.

"You know, I’m, I guess, of a generation that I don’t ... I listened to some of the Supreme Court justices and one of them said, ’Well what’s next after that? Is it two people, three people?’" Rumsfeld, 80, said in reference to the Supreme Court Hearings on Proposition 8. King pointed out that Rumsfeld was involved with the civil rights movement during his time in Congress, but the former Illinois lawmaker said he believes gay rights is a different issue.

"I guess I just don’t equate the two," Rumsfeld said. "It’s not a subject I’m knowledgeable about. I guess the Rumsfeld rule here is: I don’t know."

In May 2012, just weeks after President Barack Obama announced his support for marriage equality, former Secretary of State Colin Powell said in an interview with CNN that he has "no problem" with gay marriage.

"But, as I’ve thought about gay marriage, I know a lot of friends who are individually gay but are in partnerships with loved ones," Powell told CNN’s Wolf Blitzer. "And they are as stable a family as my family is. And they raise children. And so I don’t see any reason not to say that they should be able to get married."

Powell also lauded the repeal of DADT.

Oy vey! If people such as Rumsfeld would do a bit or research, they would discover that marriage equality for same-sex couples is leading in precisely the opposite direction as polygamy. Polygamy is based on the superiority of one sex (usually the man) in marriage over the other (usually women). Legal recognition of same-sex marriage is based on the equality of men and women and their right to make a choice of who they marry whether a partner of the same or the opposite sex.

Two liars and obfuscators. Powell is the chief instigator of DADT along with the idiot homophobe Sen Sam Nunn. Put Rumsfeld, Powell, and the supreme liar Clinton all together in the mega-hypocrites club.
