Equality Hawaii Action Fund has endorsed Gov. Neil Abercrombie for governor and Sen. Clayton Hee for lieutenant governor.

The non-partisan political action committee announced its endorsements Thursday.

The group says Abercrombie’s commitment to gay, lesbian and transgender people was evident when he signed legislation for civil unions and gay marriage.

They say Sen. Clayton Hee is a defender of minority communities and a tireless advocate for gay marriage.

The group also recently endorsed U.S. Rep. Tulsi Gabbard for re-election to Congress in District 2. They also endorsed Rep. Mark Takai for election to the seat in Congress that U.S. Rep. Colleen Hanabusa is leaving to run for the U.S. Senate.

Brian Schatz is a U.S. Senator from Hawaii, not the Lt. Gov. He’s being challenged in the Democratic primary by Rep. Hanabusa, who feels she is entitled to be the senator because the late Sen. Daniel Inouye picked her as his successor. She doesn’t seem to understand that that’s not how democracy works.
