A new survey found that several technology and entertainment companies were among the brands most popular among the LGBT community.

According to research by the YouGov BrandIndex, YouTube is the most well received brand by LGBT people. Netflix and Amazon.com followed closely behind. YouGov points out nearly half of this year’s top 20 most popular LGBT brands are technology and entertainment companies.

YouGov, a brand intelligence service that measures brand perception, reportedly asked people, "If you’ve heard anything about the brand in the last two weeks, through advertising, news or word of mouth, was it positive or negative?" The results were filtered for respondents who said they were members of the LGBT community.

Samsung came in fourth place on YouGov’s list, and Subway in sixth. Target and Trader Joe’s placed seventh and eighth respectively and Google in 12th place.

Last year, YouTube placed sixth and YouGov points out Disneyland/Walt Disney World, Apple’s iPad, Comedy Central and Starbucks all dropped out of this year’s top 20 list.

"Capital One made the largest gains in perception by the LGBT community during the first half of this year, and by huge numbers as well," YouGov writes. "To put that in perspective, Coca Cola made the second biggest gains, but by half the amount."
