A Florida flight attendant has been acquitted in Connecticut of sexually assaulting a 10-year-old boy more than 100 times.

Connecticut Superior Court Judge George Thim on Thursday found Rafael Padilla-Cruz of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., not guilty of first-degree sexual assault and risk of injury to a minor. There was no jury.

The Connecticut Post reports (http://bit.ly/1iFP6LM ) that Thim said he could not conclude beyond a reasonable doubt that Padilla-Cruz sexually abused the youngster.

Padilla-Cruz’s lawyer said he was vilified because he is gay.

The boy, who is now 16, testified that Padilla-Cruz, a family acquaintance, raped him almost daily between 2007 and 2008 while he was living with the boy’s family.

Trial testimony says the boy was expelled from school in 2008 for drug abuse and violent behavior. He underwent mental health therapy.

Wow.. That’s a tough one. On the one hand if the boy told the truth no wonder hes f’d up and on the other because hes ’troubled’ his testimony is called into question.

Being gay has nothing to do with molesting a child. It’s sad and wrong regardless of race, gender or orientation! There are bad people in every group. It’s not the group, it’s the individual... When will we learn that?

If this boy was telling the truth or even partly telling the truth and was assaulted even one time, then the flight attendant should have been found guilty. As a Gay man, I have absolutely no tolerance for adults engaging minors for any kind of sexual activity. Even when minors consent to or initiate sexual contact, the fact is that they have no idea of the consequences of their choices and society must protect them.
