The NYPD has charged a 22-year-old man with a hate crime in the stabbing death of a man found under an elevated subway line in Queens.

Steven Torres of the Bronx was charged with second-degree murder as a hate crime and criminal possession of a weapon.

WNBC-TV (http://bit.ly/1gst1d3 ) says Torres allegedly attacked 69-year-old Ever Orozco because he believed he was gay.

Orozco, a Queens resident, was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The incident occurred at Roosevelt Avenue and 90th Street in the Elmhurst section.
