EDGE Publications Appoints William Kapfer as Executive Vice President of Community Marketing
Boston, MA - EDGE Publications, the world’s largest Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) news and entertainment network, today announced that William Kapfer has joined the company as its new Executive Vice President of Community Marketing.
As EVP of Community Marketing, Kapfer will act as the primary liaison between EDGE and the LGBT community, overseeing innovative new online and ground marketing initiatives designed to further develop the company’s readership. He will also serve as the the primary connection between EDGE and the growing number of LGBT businesses and organizations around the world, helping them leverage the power of EDGE’s local communities to promote their missions and connect with the LGBT populace at large.

Kapfer is a media professional with more than 15 years of media and marketing experience for leading print, television and entertainment companies. Prior to joining EDGE, he was the Co-President of Window Media and Publisher of Genre Magazine, and held posts as Merchandising Director for Travel + Leisure and Harper’s Bazaar magazines. Previously, Kapfer had served as Director of Marketing & Corporate Relations for the Seattle International Film Festival, beginning his career as a publicist for Miramax Films and in the newsroom at the MacNeil/Lehrer NewsHour. He holds a Doctorate of Philosophy in Media Studies and runs the New York based Kapfer Group LLC, a marketing communications group specializing in reaching niche audiences.
