This Chinese island nation held its first legislative hearing on same-sex marriage. Such a measure would be revolutionary in such a conservative culture & would make it the first such country in East Asia.

Tens of thousands of people marched through Taiwan’s capital of Taipei in order to celebrate the Asian island nation’s 10th annual Gay Pride.

One of Asia’s most progressive countries for LGBT rights, Taiwan hosts the largest LGBT event in Asia. A country in rapid transition, what you see today will be vastly different in another ten years. Or as the motto has it: "The time for Taiwan is now."
