NYC Subway Riders Shocked by Receiving Air Dropped Dick Pics on their iPhones

2017 may go down as the year that flashers finally discovered the IOS air drop feature.

A new perversion is sweeping the New York City subway system. According to The New York Post, there have been numerous reports of subway riders accepting airdrop messages on their iPhones, only to open the file to find that they've received an unsolicited dick pic.

"It was just a huge close-up picture of a disgusting penis," Britta Carlson, of Bushwick, Brooklyn told The New York Post of the anonymous message titled "straw" that she received while riding the subway.

"It really felt like someone had actually just flashed me."

But the e-exhibitionists aren't only targeting women. Frankie Navisch of Harlem told The Post that he similarly opened an airdrop message named "Eduardo," only to find an solicited dick pic.

"Was he looking for interaction," Eduardo said of his unknown culprit. "Or is all he wanted was someone to look at his mini-monstrosity?"

Although the trend is new in the Big Apple, according to British publication The Independent, air dropping dick pics has been going on in London since 2015.

The Air drop file exchange feature has been a part of Apple's IOS 2013. For it to work, iPhone users have to be within Bluetooth range (approximately 300 feet). Victims of unwanted flashing usually have their security settings set to "everyone."
