Hidden down an alley off of Cahuenga Boulevard in Hollywood lies Hotel Café, one of the most prestigious music venues in Los Angeles County that is home to both talented upcoming artists and established stars.

On Dec. 14, Hotel Café showcased a variety of their performers during its 10th Annual HoHotel Holiday Benefit Show, a two-night event that donated its entire door proceeds to benefit a specific charity each night.

Night one sent the proceeds to the Songs for Kids Foundation, an organization that works to bring music to children’s hospitals and special needs camps via concerts, hospital bedside performances and their Songs for Kids Records songwriting and recording program. Night two gave their proceeds to L.A. Fire Station Spark of Love Toy Drive, with the mission to give gifts to needy children in the Southern California area.

The show at HoHotel includes more than one would expect. Due to the intimate environment, it seems as though it’s a mixture of a music lounge and comedy club. The audience is able to interact with the musicians onstage between songs, which gives the Hotel Café a personal touch that most venues lack. Both nights featured unique performances from L.A.’s predominately indie scene bands.

One of Hotel Café’s favorite Los Angeles native artists, The Young Romans, played a few of their crowd pleasures on night one of the event, including their hit "Where You Go" off of their "Tiger Child" album.

Sari Mellafe of the Young Romans states that they continuously play at the Hotel Café due to the welcoming vibe of the establishment.

"It’s one of the few venues left in L.A. with integrity," Mellafe said. "They treat artists with respect and we are happy to be a part of their family."

Being The Best Music Venue in L.A. by Citysearch editors in 2006 and being rated as one of Americas Top 40 Music Venues in Paste Magazine gives the Hotel Café high credibility, assuring the audience that they will be receiving amazing performances night after night.

Hotel Café crowds are also known to have seen some special guests pop into the venue. Notable musicians that perform there include John Mayer, Katy Perry, Adele, Billy Corgan and Marcus Mumford of Mumford and Sons.

"The 10th Annual HoHotel Holiday Benefit Show" was held on Dec. 14-15 at The Hotel Café, 1623 1/2 N. Cahuenga Blvd. in Los Angeles. For info on future events, visit www.hotelcafe.com.
